Mid Winter R & D Pays Off!

Mid Winter R & D Pays Off!

A good portion of my time on the water is spent testing and fishing patterns I’ve been working on… What I’m working on at the vice more often than not dictates where I fish and what I throw. ┬áTo me there is no reason for me to say “Hey everyone look at this killer looking new fly thats awesome… Oh and by the way I’m not even sure if it’ll do what I designed it to do and I’ve never fished it. But damn it looks so good it’s got to work”! But it seems as though it’s strangely excepted in the fly tying arena? So what do you do in the middle of the winter when you need to R&D Tiger Musky flies and everything stillwater is frozen? You scale them down and scare the shit out of some trout!
