More Topwater Prototypes

More Topwater Prototypes

The first round swam well but need some definite tweaking… I got a eat so I can’t be all that far off! ┬áThere is no way to really know what a newly created pattern will do without truly fishing it. If I even get close to what I was going for I’m happy and it seems that if I miss I still always learn something. I’m always tying and getting ideas on the hook. Here are a few new ones to check out.

Articulated Crappie Slider

Articulated Crappie Slider

For the Articulated Crappie Slider I used a Rainy’s Large Diver Head and lots of marabou to keep it light weight with maximum movement.

Diablo Clear Cure Goo Popper

The Diablo also has a Rainy’s Large Diver Head that has been fixed backwards to pop instead of dive. I colored it with sharpie markers and coated it in Brush-Able Clear Cure Goo.

  1. Hey Nick,

Good lookin stuff. You have a great feel for the big and burly stuff.

Gotta get you playing with balsa- probably not as tough as the foam, but way more flexible for shaping, and easy to work with.

    Cool site,

    Rick

Thanks Rick. Yes I loved those balsa mice and the popper that you did, so cool! I need to stop by a hobby shop and pick some up ASAP.
