I thought it was about time to articulate the Chubby Muffin since spring time is upon us. It’s still pretty rough and needs a few tweaks and a few fish under it’s belt. Not the smallest fly at 6” and with a head thats 1” x 2”… I put a regular Chubby and a factory Rainy’s Sex Dungeon for scale. I tossed it for a bit over the weekend and it’s super swimmy and the head chugs mad amounts of water, not too bad for the first go around. No love that day since ┬áthe fish were munching on olive nasties… Sometimes you just need to diligent and test out some patterns even if it means you less action and fish to hand. You’ll thank yourself later when your at the tying desk.

Thanks Ken but unfortunately I do not sell flies and Rainy’s didn’t pick this one up… Maybe another year.

Nick – love the flies. Just tied up some of the Chubbies conehead style for a swap up here in AK…turned out awesome. Looking forward to the thaw and getting out on the rivers to chase the hungry bows. I’m totally addicted to craft fur now – thanks for the inspiration!

Steve inspiring someone to create something they are stoked about is my incentive for doing tutorials. I’m happy to have inspired, let my how they fish!
